ZA 25 BPFD 1079 was bred from a third-generation inbred Aftoon sire paired to a third-generation Aftoon-bred hen on the dam’s side. This carefully planned mating preserves the racing intelligence, endurance and winning qualities for which the family is renowned.
His sire, ZA 22 37664, known as “DE KLEINE AFTOON,” closely resembles the original Aftoon family and is described as tough as nails. He is one of Sansom Lofts’ new-generation foundation breeders and has already produced Ace Pigeons and multiple winners. His offspring perform particularly well over the middle and long distances, with the family excelling when conditions become more demanding.
“DE KLEINE AFTOON” is a son of ZA BPF D7693-14, a two-time winner and outstanding breeder from the Aftoon long-distance foundation family, paired to ZA 17 BPFD 5788, a Cradock Federation winner and full sister to several Gold Medal Ace Pigeons.
His dam, ZA 22 37634, is a fourth-generation Aftoon/De Norre hen that developed into a successful foundation breeder. She is the dam of ZA 2405, which produced 1st Club and 2nd Federation, as well as 2nd Club and 6th Federation.
ZA 22 37634 is also a full sister to the highly regarded stock hen ZA BPF D3938 and a half-sister to several proven Federation performers and breeders, including ZA BPF D2282, the “SAMAJOOR COCK,” ZA BPF D1575 and ZA BPF D1588.
